interactive widgets

the part of the page you can touch.

An interactive floor plan, a product configurator, a calculator. A custom web widget, hand-coded into the site rather than embedded from somewhere else.

How big is that room, what does it cost in my configuration. A widget answers those on the page, while someone is deciding.

what a widget actually is.

Five objects, named.

what each one is for

A plan lets a buyer compare two layouts without opening two documents. A configurator keeps the specification in step with the picture. A chart on your page is not a chart service billed monthly.

All five are drawn by the page itself.

walk a plan, right here.

This is the widget, not a picture of one. Select a room.

JavaScript is off, so the panel is not updating. The plan is still drawn and still labelled.

Four buttons reachable with the keyboard, one panel that announces the change to a screen reader.

built into the page, not embedded into it.

Nearly every interactive thing on a small business website is somebody else's product in a box.

no third-party embed

Another company's page inside yours, on their schedule and their branding.

no per-view licence

Nothing counts views. A popular configurator does not send a larger bill.

no vendor script

Nothing fetched from another domain before the page draws, and nobody watching your visitors.

And it is yours: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript in your own repository.

what it costs to keep running

Nothing beyond the site itself. A static site is €0 a month; outside that €0 sit your own domain at roughly €10–15 a year and registered to you, transactional email past the free tiers, and unbranded multi-user booking — set out on hosting & care.

It is designed at phone width first, and the page around it reads with JavaScript off.

a house you can walk through before it exists.

A specification list asks a house buyer to imagine too much. So the site was built around a floor plan: pick a room and it opens.

this site's own demonstration.

Reading a number and watching it fill are not the same experience. The business brain page is the proof.

All hand-coded, on a page that is still a static file.

what it costs, and why there is no list.

A four-room plan and a configurator with fourteen options are not the same job.

If a widget is the whole project, say so and we scope it on its own.

where this usually sits.

A widget is rarely the whole job.

pillar 01 custom-coded websites

The build a widget normally ships inside. Hand-written, no templates, from €500.

questions we get asked.

The ones that come up every time.

Can you put a widget into a site I already have?

Usually. If your site lets us add our own files, the widget becomes part of the page. A closed platform allows only a frame, which gives up most of the speed.

Does it work on a phone?

That is the width it is designed at first. Controls stay thumb-sized, the layout collapses to one column, and nothing is hover-only.

Do I pay per view, or per month?

Neither. It becomes part of your site's own files: no licence counting views, no subscription to renew.

How much does a widget cost?

It is scoped per project. A widget usually sits inside a website build, and website development starts at €500 excluding VAT. You get a quote in writing.
